Lisa
Bayer, Piano and Violin Lisa Bayer is the owner of A Joyful Noise Music Studio in Fenton, Michigan, where she teaches piano and violin. Lisa Bayer began piano lessons at age seven with Elisabeth Weidenaar in East Lansing. She participated in MMTA competitions every spring from age nine to age fifteen, scoring in the top ten percent of students her age. Lisa began learning the violin in Fifth Grade strings at Okemos Public Schools, later studying under Cheryl Hudler in the Okemos Suzuki String program. She was principal second violin in the Okemos High School Orchestra for two years and participated in the Symphony Orchestra Program for two summers at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, which included solo, ensemble and symphony orchestra experience. Later, Lisa studied with Lyman Bodman of East Lansing before moving to the Chicago area in 1986. Lisa auditioned for the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra and secured a position in the violin section there, serving for two academic years. That experience included a two-week tour of Germany and Austria, as well as a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Later, Lisa attended Michigan State University, where she was a member of the MSU Symphony Orchestra. Since 1995, Lisa has been happily married to Chris and has home-schooled their four children since 1998. Lisa is very pleased to have founded A Joyful Noise Music Studio in 2003 with three piano students. Today, A Joyful Noise serves over 85 piano, guitar, violin and voice students from Fenton, Linden, Holly and Hartland. Lisa is excited to have the opportunity to work with students of all ages who desire to learn the discipline of music for whatever reason. |
