"What's new" notes from A Joyful Noise Music Studio

Summer 2008 Class Offerings

Looking for a way to spark your kids’ interest in music?  Already studying music and looking for something new?  Wanting to learn a new instrument?  If so, please consider joining us at A Joyful Noise this summer for some of the exciting classes we have to offer!

Ensemble Classes

Playing in a group situation with other musicians requires different skills than playing solo.  In this class, students will learn the basics of ensemble playing, including:  rhythm, chord progressions, reading leadsheets, transposition and improvisation.  Students will be matched up with others of a similar skill level and will have the opportunity to select pieces from a range of musical genres, including:  praise/worship, blues, rock.

Classes meet:  Two evenings a week for an 8-week summer session July 7-August 28.
Course Fee:  $120 per student per 8-week session, includes materials.
Instrument Rental:  $80 per 8-week session.

Music Day Camps

A Joyful Noise Music Studio will be offering 2-week Music Day Camps throughout the summer.  Each 2-week session will center around a different theme.  Healthy snacks provided.  Each camp will conclude with an outreach opportunity for the young performers, who will have a chance to perform for residents of local nursing homes.

Children’s Choir

Love to sing?? Join us for some singing fun this summer.  Students will learn music theory, rhythm, simple harmony and solid vocal technique.  Ages 8 and up, no experience required.

Classes meet:  Monday-Thursday 10-11:30am.
Course Fee:  $100 per student per 2-week session.

Violin

A Joyful Noise Music Studio will be offering Violin Day Camps throughout the summer.  Each 2-week session will provide the students with an opportunity to learn and perform a new piece of music—solo, duet, or trio. Ages 5 and up, all skill levels welcome.

Classes meet:  Monday-Thursday 12:30-2:00pm.
Course Fee:  $100 per student per 2-week session.
Instrument rental available: $20 per session.

 Day Camps:

Session I:  July 7-17     Session II: July 21-31

Session III: August 4-14      Session IV: August 18-28

Final Friday performances July 18th, August 1st, 15th and 29th.

A Joyful Noise Music Studio students performed during Christmas at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church's annual Jesus Walk celebration. We plan to sponsor performer at the 2008 Jesus Walk event.

Fenton EXPO
